had ever committed could be seen on their faces in its own distinctive color. The mysterious rain had caused the once invisible stains to become embarrassingly apparent. It seems that this had been no ordinary April shower; rather, one might say that it had been a doomsday drizzle!

Ashamed that the whole world would now know their personal sins, everyone rushed home hoping to wash away the blemishes. However, no amount of soap or water, of rubbing or scrubbing, would remove the telltale stains of their sins! Peoples' frustration rapidly changed to fear as the thunder began. Low and distant was the rumble, but it soon reached an ear-shattering pitch. From east to west, from north to south, the thunder rolled back and forth across the earth. Within seconds the eclipse was total, and the entire earth was enveloped in a doomsday darkness. It was obvious to all that the eclipse was unnatural and a prophetic forecast of what would happen in seven short days. As the shadow moved away from the face of the sun and the total darkness began to lift, people hoped, for a brief moment, that the return of light might reveal that their stains had disappeared. The return of the sun, however, only disclosed that their faces were still tattooed with the stains of their sins.
