06/14/2001 "Cheryl, Please for Joe's safety and well being, tell him he is on very thin ice when he starts bringing up things from the past that never happened. I am refering to his fictious and unfounded delusional statement that TEMPLE CITY HIGH SCHOOL beat the SPARTANS 55-0...I happen to have a 1970 football team roster of 48 big, mean, ugly guys that will swear that that game never happened. We have all wiped that from our memories and anyone like little Joey Melendrez that thinks that they have some recollection of it is playing with fire. we don't wish to have to visit little Joey and remind him that some things that NEVER HAPPENED are just better left unremembered." Pete Christos

06/13/2001 "It's fine to list my email address.  I don't think I will be able to attend the reunion but look forward to hearing what's up with people.  I haven't had a chance to look at the site recently but it sounds like you've done a lot.  Hopefully I'll have a chance to look at it soon. Leslie Grylls"

06/13/2001 "I wasn't originally planning on coming to the reunion, but after getting all your e-mails I'm reconsidering. Are there any plans for entertainment at the party? I'd like to sing a couple of cabaret type songs, just for grins. Anyone have any opinions on that? IRENE PETERS"

06/12/2001    "Cheryl, You can put me down for going to the football game. I hope we're playing Temple City and the young Spartans spank'em. It would be sweet revenge for the 51-0 thrashing the Rams gave our Varsity Seniors. Who me, forget? Never! SPARTANS RULE!!! Joe Melendrez"

06/12/2001  "Huh? Oh my gosh, this is what happens when they don't bring you the prune juice on time! /jimmy paige, Class of Seventy, maybe guilty of 3 out of 4 on Pete's list, but definitely not all."

06/12/2001 "Cheryl, thank you for your e-mail, no we won't be at the football game but Tom and I will be at the reunion on Sat. night. I have been enjoying everyone's messages to you, just wish this old memory of mine remembered more of the names and faces. I looked at all your family pics and loved them. Please tell me how to contact . Will you both be at the reunion? I can't believe its been 30 years! I still think of us as nearly young adults but our children (those monsters) and the grandkids seem to think differently. Our oldest grandson is graduating from grade school next week, wasn't that us just a little while ago?" Terry Fenn

06/12/2001   to LCHS70 "Oh my, old fella, you are confused. Pete was calling LCHS '70 all those things *BG*"

06/12/2001   "Hey, Pete! You can't call the members of LCHS '71 all those things: we're definitely not all a bunch of former hippies. OK, I had to use my trifocals to read the bloody email, but, uh, um, what were we talking about? Geez, its hard to keep on track & remember stuff...... /Jim Paige" '70

06/12/2001    "Greetings Cheryl, Thank you for sending me the info on our reunion and classmates. I have been spending a lot of time reading the 2500+ messages on the class of 1970 site and thought it would be very hospitable of us, as a class, to officially invite the class of 1970 to join us for our class picnic. It might even lead to a ' 70 vs ' 71 soft ball game. I am sure we would whip them without to much trouble, seeing as they are just a bunch of old, broken-down, burned-out former hippies. Why don't you think about it and run it by the powers that be and see what comes of the idea. respectfully, Pete Christos"

"Cheryl - hello i graduated lchs class of 1970.  you mentioned in one of your earlier e-mails the name .  do you know how to get in touch with chris?  diane williams bashian - a fellow classmate, would love to know his whereabouts.  hope you can help - thanks - bette jameson moreno"

06/11/2001 "Dear Cheryl - I just thought I would say hello! This is really so much fun hearing from our classmates. Your life sounds as if it has been very full. I look forward to seeing you and I wanted to thank you for applying your computer expertise to the reunion endeavor. It will truly prove to make our reunion much more meaningful. Thank you! Sincerely, Lisa Scivally "

> and 72. I went once (I think golf is for wussies).

to I meant to tell you that my father never worked, played golf 3xs a week all of his life, was known at the club for having gotten a hole in one.

He didn't take my twin and I until we were about 12 years old and then I guess he suddenly hoped we'd follow in his footsteps. Lots of pressure. Everyone at the golf club knew we were "Johnny's girls". Took a few lessons with the pro. At the driving range, I swung - and the club went wayyyyyyy out there. Everyone watched as "Johnny's girl" walked out to go get her club. I never went back again.

06/09/2001 "Hey Cheryl! I just got off the phone with and I gave him the good word on your site. Don's doing ok. Married, no kids but he is happy as a clam living in Laguna Beach the past 25 yrs. I visited him and his wife last summer. I hadn't seen him in awhile and I told him that he and wife looked like a couple of old hippies! Actually he is going well and is a VP for some company down there in Southern Orange County.

Don has his own way of keeping in touch with the HS bros and babes. He organizes a golf tournament to get everybody together once a year. This year was the most successful with 32 guys showing up. It all started as a birthday party for . For some reason Jensen's nick name is 'Monsoon'. Thus the name of the tournament: Monsoon I,II, III, etc. This year I believe it was up to 8 or 9. It is mostly a combination of three classes; 70,71, and 72. I went once (I think golf is for wussies). But some of the people I remember being there were , , , , , , , , , , , a bunch of LCHS guys. Each year Donnie brings in a surprise guest or two and this year it was and . The tournament is now a weekend affair and the wives also attend. Just in case anyone is interested, it is open to all and all are welcome. Just contact Donnie: dpk6@home.com.

Thanks, and your awesome.

BTW, I think I met my lid for this pot while out watching the Laker game, and guess what? Her name is Cheryl!" Joseph Melendrez

06/09/2001,   "Have been visiting the website, it is great....so much fun, you are doing a tremendous job....would be neat if you made classmates emails available so we could email each other (just a thought)

06/05/2001, "Hi Cheryl! ... My sister, (now Diller) was in your class. I see her senior pix. She lives in Mission Viejo with her hubbie and two kids (one off to college this fall). How time flies! Good luck keeping up the web site. We need someone with your enthusiasm in Class of '73! Cheers!" Sue (Hagen) Singh LCHS '73
