05/31/2001   '70 "Wow Cheryl it's been about a million years since I've heard from anyone in La Canada. My mom still lives down the street from where Debbie DeSantis used to live and I've seen a couple of people (about 10 years ago) that used to hang out with my sister Kathy.

I was surprised to see Scott fuller's picture up on your website. He and I were on again off again friends during High School.

After high school I made a false start at Pasadena City College (PCC) ... got bored, went to work at an electronics manfacturing house and almost got drafted .... (almost meaning I enlisted in the Navy immediately after was called in for the Army physical). I was stationed in Pearl Harbor Hawaii for (pretty much) my entire 2 1/2 years in the Navy. After i got out of the navy I came back to La Canada and went back to PCC and got an AS degree in electronics. After PCC, I transferred to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (using my GI benefits) where I graduated with a BS in Electronics. I moved up to Silicon Valley and got a job with this start up (at the time) company called Apple Computer. I was an engineer in their Service Diagnostics group and my first assignment was to be the Service Engineer for this new product they were going to release in 1984, code named Macintosh. I left Apple briefly (after 13 years and 3 patents) to work at a company called SanDisk (they invented and make "flash cards for digital cameras and PDAs). 2 1/2 years later I came back to Apple where I am an applications Engineer in Apple's Developer support organization. I got married 1 year after college and am still married, with two kids, Christopher 11, and Jennifer 9.

Looking at your web page it's amazing how many people I actually knew and remembered.

Thanks for sending the e-mail. Sincerely; Steve M."

From Cheryl to Steve, "I just looked up your pic. I remember your face and have warm feelings about it. Don't have specific memories.

Can I post your message in our guestbook?

You'd probably be very interested you are still on the missing classmates list at your lchs70 thriving email community:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LCHS70

So glad you wrote back."

From Steve to Cheryl, "I'm not surprised you don't remember me, I was really PAINFULLY shy, very young looking and, truthfully, not very popular in high school. I remember you as Debbie DeSantis' friend and that you had a sister (I guess twin) that was in the same grade.

I was in Mr. Barker's drama class practically every year I was at LCH. I had a supporting roll in almost every play he did from 1968 to 1970. Check out page 165 of the 1970 year book ... um , well I'm pretty sure those fingers you see are mine stevemartin2.jpg (58210 bytes) [Note from Cheryl: Diana Davidson was the swimmer in the first scene of Dirty Harry movie]... I think!? Oh well, um ... page 18 of the same yearbook in the top picture (between the nurse and "Walter Mitty") that's me... honestly ... I think you can actually see my eyebrows stevemartin3.jpg (35624 bytes).

I have no problem if you want to post any part or all of my memos.

Thanks again for the e-mail, I really haven't thought much about La Canada high since I left until you sent the e-mail."  Steve Martin

06/02/2001 "Hi, I'm trying to find an email or post office address for a good (LCHS class of 1971) friend of mine; Dwight Roof. I lost touch with him over twenty years ago now, and Sure would appreciate any help in contacting Dwight!" Thanks, Michael Losornio (LCHS class of 1970)

05/31/2001 "Great website. I am trying to find pictures to send to you. We moved in July and I still haven't unpacked everything. I have a favor to ask you if it is not too much trouble. Chris Richter from FIS emailed me from the Classmates website. She only went to FIS in 8th grade. I don't remember what she looks like and I can't find my FIS yearbooks. Do you have your's and if you do can you email me a picture of Chris. If it is too much trouble I will understand and not be upset. So don't worry if you can't do it. I can't wait till the reunion. I am really excited about going to the Homecoming game too. Are you going to all the events?  I have been enjoying all the pictures and reading what everyone has to say. I too was in Alice in Wonderland. I was a flower and something else. I have many wonderful memories of Mr. Barker's Drama class. I think you and Scott were in with me for the full four years of high school. I always though Mr. Barker was trying to tell me something: I played a dead person in Our Town, a girl who commits suicide in Stage Door and the only part that I tried out for and got they cancelled the play (it was something like Diamonds are a girls Best Friend). Do you remember doing Pinocchio Well, I really look forward to seeing you all.  I guess that PE teacher was right to ask if you ever get away from that computer. You answer me right away. That 's great. I forgot to ask you to say hi to Scott. I have very fond memories of everyone during the four years we were in drama. Have you heard from ? Do you remember Patty (I can't remember her last name) who was in drama I think just our freshman and maybe sophm.year). She was older then us. I heard she was killed while walking down a street by a car in Glendale. I heard it on the news. It was a real shocker.  ask Scott if he remembers Pinocchio? It still seems like we did it in high school.  Remember in Alice In Wonderland when Marilyn (can't remember her last name) drew red hearts on her face and they didn't come off. They stained. She was one of the playing cards.  I remember it was   that played the card. Pinocchio might have been our senior year. It seemed that there were freshman in the class.  That's great that you have kept in touch with so many people. I have only kept in touch with   and . This is kind of fun-going back and forth with the emails."

To Julie, "I've asked Stan Ryals to email you her picture when he finds his 8th grade yearbooks." Cheryl Moore "Hello, I will be happy to do so, it could be a few days...talk to you soon." Stanton

06/02/2001 "I sent the picture to Julie and thought you might like a copy too. Chris Richters' picture is in the attachment. Talk to you soon. Oh, by the way I did find all the regular year books but I will have to dig for the two reunion books. Look out spiders and bugs here I come..." Stanton

From Cheryl to Julie "I recognize the name Steve Poolie fondly, but don't remember specifics. I'm thinking of redhead .  I see a Patty Wing a year older than us who I recognize. Don't know if it's cuz of drama. There's Patty Johnson, Pat Hunt, Pat Humes, Pat Harris a year older, I don't recognize them well. Wow. Looking at their pics, I do recognize lots of them. I'll be darned. signed my yearbook. It sounds like she was in drama. I attach her pic. Scott may know who you're talking about. I've got to call Michelle Collella. I found her phone #, she was supposed to get back to me with email address, and didn't. BTW, I didn't stay in touch with people. Got back in touch with them since reunion page." Cheryl Moore

"It was who was killed." Julie French

"Patty Wing and her two children were run over by a drunk driver.  Why I know is because it was 1 block over from my old house by the Oakmont Country Club."  Ed Davis '69 pic LCHS70

"Patty, her daughter, an adult friend and her child were all instantly killed by a drunk driver leaving a bar in Montrose. He drove into the little pedestrian island at the corner of Canada and Verdugo, where they were waiting. A memorial plaque rests there now, and Patty's last name reflects her marriage to LCHS 1970 classmate Patrick Carr who lost his family that day." Gary Williams '69 pic, LCHS70

"I remember Pat Hunt but I don't think that she was in drama with us. I think Patty Ryan was in for just her freshman year." Julie French
