09/29/2001   "Hi Cheryl- It's your old Blue Bird buddy, Kathy Moore. I just wandered into the LCHS web site and marvelled at all the work you've put into it to make it fun. Thanks alot. I'm sure it has been quite the experience for you to "relive" those magic moments. I'm hoping I can get to the reunion but things are still up in the air for me at the moment so I can't commit. Currently I'm in Canada and I'm not entirely sure when I'll be back in California. If I do, I hope to see you at the grand event. Somewhere on the site I found a section of Biographies but now I can't seem find it again. If you have a moment can you direct me? No worries if you are swamped with pressing reunion details.Take care,KM

Luckily I'm still really tight with my 3 brothers (my sis is a different story but nothing dramatic). Do you remember my 2 LCHS brothers, Kirk and Bryan? Kirk graduate the year we were freshman. Bryan was one year ahead of us. Most everyone seemed to have a crush on one or the other of them at some time as I was growing up. Bryan is a marble sculptor and lives in the Chianti countryside  with his beautiful Italian wife and their even more gorgeous 11 year old daughter. Isn't that cool? He left the US 25 years ago. Kirk works for United and has been blissfully married to a great gal for the last million years. They have 2 wonderful boys."

09/29/2001 "I read your bio. Sounds like a GREAT life! Congrats!"

09/25/2001 " Dear Cheryl, As I don't have Michelle's email, please pass this on to her... Michelle,

Congratulations! I am proud of you for the courage to step into a new position, especially at a time like this and in a position as such.

Remembering back to LCHS, you were always willing to accept a challenge and you were quite "an achiever"!. You will be in my thoughts and prayers through this transition and for your future. Congratulations again and best wishes through your confirmation of position.

Sincerely,

Melissa Putnam McConnell LCHS Class of 1972

09/25/2001 " Dear Cheryl, Thank you so much for forwarding that information about Michelle. I am so proud to be an american and to know that someone close to us is there, in Washington.

Hope you will keep in touch.

Sincerely, Lori Flagg Formerly Lori Locke Witherspoon" '72

09/22/2001 " Alright Michelle ! Wow! Congratulations on such an awesome responsibility. Good for you and our country.

Osama Bin Laden is in big trouble with you on his tail!

Good luck! And best wishes to you and your sister.

Hey Bill Hurst !

Well there, young man. Haven't seen you since the Boulder days. Since then I had only heard you had moved to Colorado Springs. Most of our classmates probably weren't aware of this, but you were the most fearless body surfer ever! I will never forget you at the Wedge in Newport Beach. Time and again taking off on 20' waves while the rest of us stayed on the beach with our tails between our legs. I can still vividly see you going over the falls with about 10 tons of water coming down behind you. You were and still are the MAN!

Good to hear about you, Bill.

Cheryl, I checked out the "In Memory" page and have info. on another member of the class of 71. A couple of years after graduation, I heard that Curt Smith died in a skiing accident up at Mammouth Mountain. Joe Melendrez "

09/19/2001 '73 "Dear Cheryl: Thank you for forwarding Michelle's email. As you may recall, Michelle was a good friend. Fabulous, fantastic news. It somehow makes me feel "better" knowing that folks like Michelle are now stepping into positions of import and power -- a bit of well-timed hope in these dark days. All my best to her.

As my troubles continue I don't know if I'll be able to make it, but I did knock around with a few of you so I'd like to know when and where this up-coming reunion is to be held.

Hope all is well with you and yours. -Dan Reed"

To classmates, "BTW, Dan's an author

09/18/2001   "Dear Cheryl: Thank you for keeping me updated on the lives of my former high school classmates. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the festivities planned for reunion. My best wishes to all and perhaps next time around I'll be able to come. (I hope it's not when we are all pushing walkers!) love to all...Colleen Clinnin McColloch"
