Harry Potter Script Outline for Easter

I had a very sparse script on one page so I could easily refer to it during the party.  For your benefit I've added a few things to the script on this page to help you get a better idea of what I did.

Invitations upstairs for all kids, marked booty bags (Trader Joe's brown shopping bags with handles,

"Wizard-in-training" and their name written on their bag,
gummy feet "walking" down the stairs, trace of key under the foot for Brittny to discover, tape little pics

Invitation on front door for Brittny and Drew Had Daigon Alley sound from
                         harrypotter.com playing.

Brittny frees the kids and gets mail key for “safety deposit box

Bank for $ (our mail slot – oriental.com coins

Daigon Alley for each store - I printed each store's name in a different font, cut them apart, and they were
readily available to be quickly taped to their locations.

Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions – in Family Room, Uniform, hat, glasses (Harry Potter

glasses or oriental.com glasses), robe (black trash bag with sticker tab), I found purple Harry

                                face paint formula

to         Once your guests are "sorted," have them choose a symbol for their team and paint it on their foreheads or cheeks. An obvious choice is the lightning bolt scar found on Harry Potter's forehead, but other ideas include snakes for Slytherins, lions for Gryffindors, or magic wands, wizard hats, stars, broomsticks or golden snitches (gold orbs with wings).

                                    Rubber Eggs -

I got this off a webpage, "Have your wizards create their own party favors! Place an uncooked egg in a glass jar (large baby food jars and small eggs work well), cover the egg with vinegar, and screw on the lid. Instruct each child to let the egg sit in their refrigerators for a couple of days. The vinegar will dissolve the egg shell but leave the membrane intact, making the egg feel like a rubber ball. Very cool." But in practice I think they're supposed to be hardboiled. I had put uncooked eggs in large glass jar, and went to get one out, it came apart.

                        Final Exam,

They stay in family room. 3yo Drew goes first. He automatically passes. Don’t tell or you forfeit your passing grade. BOO!
Hogwarts is an enchanted castle, full of ghosts, secret passages and mysteries. Why not throw in a few surprises to enchant your own house? Your child will love recording a special cassette tape, alternating moans (yes it's me), groans and cackles with stretches of silence. Hide a tape player in the bathroom, and let the tape play during the party. Guests may be surprised to get a sudden visit from Moaning Myrtle!

MATERIALS:
3/4 yard dark-colored felt
2 or 3 squares yellow felt (9" x 12" each)
Yardstick
Scissors
Stapler
Tacky glue

DIRECTIONS:
1. Lay out the dark-colored felt on a flat surface. Designate one of the corners as the tip of the hat. Cut a quarter-circle-shaped wedge approximately 27 inches long measured from that corner.
2. Using the yellow felt squares, cut out shapes of stars and moons. Glue these shapes to one side of the felt wedge with plenty of craft glue, leaving several inches at the bottom (curved end) of the hat bare. Allow to dry.
3. Fold the felt wedge in half, decorated side in, to line up the two straight sides. Staple a seam down the length of these sides. Turn the hat inside out so that the staples are on the inside and the stars and moons on the outside.
4. Roll up the bottom of the hat to create a rim. Add a staple or two to hold in place, if necessary

Play a simple game of Quidditch, perhaps by sweeping balls into a goal, tagging opponents with foam balls, racing and dodging and tagging.

They were requested to bring their brooms for "muggle quidditch". I found the font "LUMOS" at another Harry Potter Fan website to use.
We will use a small red nerf ball on the driveway and hit the ball with the brooms. When we parents think they've had enough we will throw in a "snitch" which will be a yellow tennis ball.

  •
a chocolate coin equals a raise in allowance; a gummy rat foretells a pet in the child's future; a chocolate soccer ball means fame to come in the sports world; a candy pacifier indicates a new sibling; a chocolate medallion points to a future Olympian.

After the party, send some howlers.
