After I'd been married 5 years to my first husband his mother finally agreed to give me this "secret family recipe"  she'd seen "secretly" on  tv many years earlier:

Beef in the Boats

@ 3 1/2 lbs round steak cut in to pieces

@ 6 small cans of mushroom gravy

@ 3 small cans of mushrooms

2 6 packs of french rolls

Sharp Cheddar Cheese, grated

Brown the meat, put the meat in a pot with the mushroom gravy and mushrooms.

Cut the french rolls from top to bottom (not side to side) in 1/2. Scoop out the inside doughy bread and put the bread in the pot with the meat and gravy. Cook for awhile.

Put the rolls up on a cookie sheet.

Fill each roll with meat mixture, top with grated cheese, warm up in the oven.
